Greece, Destroyer of Worlds.

Eurozone map in 2009 Category:Maps of the Eurozone

Since the end of the Cold War, the nations of the world have become increasingly interdependent. Interdependency is the idea that relations among states within the international system are mutually dependent and inextricably tied together. In theory, interdependency will lead to peace as war among the dependent nations is no longer feasible. A perfect example is the European Union and its pacifying impact on Europe. The history of Europe is as long as it is violent. Nevertheless, the region has been relatively peaceful ever since the nations of Europe became economically interdependent.

However, interdependency has a dark side. In this new era of globalization, sovereign nations can find themselves held hostage by the economic policies of other states. Imagine the impact on the world economy if Saudi Arabia decided to cease all oil production or if the United States instituted a trade embargo on all foreign products. The current Greece debt crisis is a real-world example of how the economic policies of one nation can severely hamper the economies of the entire Euro-zone, the United States, and the world.

With the aftermath of the recent economic recession and the impact of international trade agreements on domestic economies, should not the United States, as well as the nations of the world, strive to be self-sufficient?

  1. I would have to say yes to the agreement to the blog. United States and even other nations around the world should start being self –sufficient. It is common sense. The more one depends on someone else, the less sufficient he or she will be. Government personnel sure wants to believe they are independent, but they sure don’t act like it. One big example I can think of is the constant routine of America barrowing money from everyone else, especially china. “… bureaucrats operate not only within the confines of routine, but often with considerable discretion to behave independently” (Edwards III, Wattenberg, and Lineberry, p. 448). I don’t seem to understand. If government authority behaves in such an independent kind of way, why rely on others when they can rely on themselves. It is my understanding that we have many government personnel responsible for the protection of our public interest in specific areas of our economy. “ Each independent regulatory commission has responsibility for making and enforcing rules to protect the public interest in a particular sector of the economy…” (Edwards III, Wattenberg, and Lineberry, p. 441). Would ant it be wiser to have these authorities in government to start think about the wellbeing of are self-sufficiency other than asking for help every time we are in a jam. The US should focus more of their attention on how our people within can help each other than having the handicaps of asking everyone else for help out of our national circle. Like the book said, “Bureaucracy is simply a way of organizing people to perform works” (Edwards III, Wattenberg, and Lineberry, p. 443). I believe now is the time to reorganize the many jobs in which government hold and really set a plan to the path of better independents because if we don’t, “federal government [will be] growing out of control” (Edwards III, Wattenberg, and Lineberry, p. 460).

  2. Hello, i think that i saw you visited my web site thus i came to
“return the favor”.I’m trying to find things to enhance my web site!I suppose its ok to use a few of your ideas!!

  3. I think the United States should become more independent. As well as other nations around the world should do the same thing. I understand that importing and exporting of goods is a good thing for our country. I just think that when a nation becomes totally dependent on another country it looses it’s capacity to fend for it’s self. We need trading to make the world go around. But we must also remember that we must stay self- sufficient before we wake up one day and our country is being ruled by some other nation.

  4. Thanks! That’s very helpful info!

  5. Undeniably believe that which you said. Your favorite reason seemed to be on the web the easiest thing
to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people consider
worries that they plainly do not know about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could take a signal.
Will probably be back to get more. Thanks

  6. I got this web site from my pal who informed me about
this website and now this time I am browsing this web
page and reading very informative articles or reviews here.

  7. The report offers confirmed helpful to me. It’s really useful and you’re clearly extremely educated in this region. You possess opened our eye in order to varying views on this particular matter using interesting and strong content material.

  8. Fabulous, what a webpage it is! This weblog provides valuable
facts to us, keep it up.

  9. The next time you feel too lazy about brushing your teeth, flossing, or going to your dentist for checkups,
just think about how much of a shame it would be to not be
able to smile with perfect teeth. ) Once I cleaned up the toothpaste,
I tried it again, and this time it felt as if my teeth were going to shake out of
my head. Every time my parents will ask me if I brushed my teeth before going to bed I would always say yes even if
    I didn’t.

  10. This is great since I don’t need to grab a pot holder or towel to open the lid. Often, a recipe will ask that you cook a meal 3-4 hours on the “high” setting, or 6-8 hours on “low”. After you gain some experience, you can begin to improvise with chicken or beef broth, wine, tomato juice, etc.

  11. Haha I shared this as well. Love it.

  12. Amazing issues here. I’m very happy to see your article. Thanks so much and I am looking forward to contact you. Will you kindly drop me a e-mail?

  13. However, with the movie Zombieland, it was an entirely
different approach to dealing with zombie apocalypse.

fake ones. That is of course, unless it is at the expense of someone else.

  14. It is quiet and will not be heard over a television or
other appliances; I worked on this review with the heater on my table and could
not hear it over the sound of my computes fans. It is a
lovely room but it gets very cold in the winter.
Are you thinking about building or remodeling your home but want to do it in an environmentally friendly way.

  15. It is a “patented microfilament brush” that has finer bristles than a other toothbrush Its said that the
toothbrush performs the same function as flossing, although it is recommended that you continue floss.
Each person might prefer the different features that
come with the toothbrush; there are many models to choose from so you
can choose one that best fits your needs. When you brush too hard or
incorrectly you expose the roots of the teeth, which are supposed to be below the gums and therefore insulated.

  16. Probably the most important thing after blade size is the size of the table top.
These are lightweight and the least capable of the four types.
If there is a difference in the two distances, adjust the
    saw accordingly.

  17. Aw, this was a very good post. Finding the time and actual effort to produce a very good article… but what can I say… I put things off a whole lot and don’t manage
    to get anything done.

  18. always i used to read smaller articles which as well clear their motive, and that is also
happening with this piece of writing which I am reading now.

  19. I would have to agree with the post. The United States as well as other countries should become more self –sufficient. The more dependent America becomes, the harder it is to truly prove that we have power. You can have power if your just renting resources.
