Main St. Anytown U.S.A.

To close budget deficits, New Jersey cuts its police force, Pennsylvania turns to gambling, and Illinois raises taxes.

  1. A state is no different than running any other company. When that company is running into the red, they need to make cuts and changes in operations to steer back into the black.

It is bad when the state has to cut on the public services we count on (police, fire, sanitation etc…), but the alternative is to keep paying for things we cannot afford.

This is why I praise Gov. Christie. He has the strength to make painful cuts rather than do fancy tricks to his ledger sheet (like we have been doing in Ca for years). It will be painful now, but better in the long run.
